The function of the lightning rods is to capture lightning to flow it to the earth along down conductors. Duval Messien manufacture and install lightning rods of 3 categories :
Simple rod (passive points) adapted to low dimensions areas.
Early Streamer Emission (ESE), derivative from the previous one, but whose effectiveness is multiplied by an electronic device which generate high voltage impulsions, which amplify the corona effect reducing then the meeting time between the ascending and descending tracers. It is used for more important areas. SCHEME EXAMPLE OF AN ESE PROTECTION
Meshed cage or tight strand protection inspired by «Faraday cage », is composed if necessary of small points installed around the building on the protruding parts, at regular distances. These points are connected between each other with a meshing either composed of conductor installed on the roof, either with tight strands installed above the structure to protect. Lightning rods of this category share the wave shock flow with the meshing between the several down conductors.
